My X2 is giving me a message saying Xperia home isn't working yet it won't let me stop the app or send an error report. My phone keeps making a wierd noise just like when I take a photo and every time I try and click on an app or Icon a green box appears around it and it beeps but nothing else happens. Consequently I can't access any of my apps! Please Help!!
Hi @LouLou123, let me see if I can help out here.
From your description, it sounds a bit like you have entered a mode in the phone called Talkback. This is a pre-installed screen reader service on Android devices provided by Google for visually impaired users.
The trick to navigate the menus while in talkback is to double tap on everything that you would normally single tap and if you want to scroll through a menu, you will have to scroll using two fingers. For example, if you want to enter settings tap on the settings icon in order for the green box to appear and then double tap the settings icon to enter settings. For more information on how to deactivate Talkback, click here.
If the Xperia Home-app keeps stopping after you have deactivated talkback, it might be a good idea to clear data for the app. Find and tap Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all XX apps > Xperia Home > Storage > Clear data > Tap "OK" > Restart the phone.
Please note though that this will reset your home screen settings, so if you have any shortcuts or widgets added to your current home screen, you will have to add them to the home screen again afterwards.
I hope that helped!
