My Mobile network signal keeps turning off at random times. Its really annoying cause sometimes when i want to make calls or go online it suddenly shows no signal. Please, i just bought this phone recently so im kinda worried. Need help
Hi @sio_k9, sorry to hear about this.
Have you been experiencing this behaviour during the entire time that you have had the phone, and does these signal drops occur at a specific kind of use or does it happen randomly?
One thing that you can try is to switch to another network type to see if the network signal improves. To do this, find and tap Settings > Network and internet > Mobile network > Advanced > Preferred network type. Also, it would be good try to insert another SIM card in the phone to see if the phone behaves the same way with another SIM card. If the phone works better with another SIM, your SIM might be defective and in need of replacement.
Another thing that you can try is to run your phone in safe mode for a while to see if the signal drops there as well. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode where all apps downloaded from Play Store is deactivated temporarily and by doing this, you can see if this behaviour is caused by a downloaded app. For more information on safe mode and how to use it, click here.
Try these measures and let me know how it goes!
Thanks so much, I will try these suggestions you have given and will get back to you. Yes signal drops randomly, i notice it drops at times at a specific place, but mostly at random times and place. I will try switching sims of different network and see how it goes.
Sounds great, @sio_k9!
Keep me posted with the results and let me know if you have any further questions!
Hello, I have been experiencing the same issue. My signal is constantly cutting out, and I will have no signal in good service areas. Every phone call I make, whether I'm moving or sitting still, and no matter how many bars I have, the signal will cut out a few minutes into the call. I will be able to hear the person on the other end of the call for about ten seconds while they are unable to hear me, and then the signal will cut out entirely.
I have replaced the SIM, and when that didn't work, I performed a factory reset. My carrier suggested it was a storage issue, so I reduced the used storage to 60%. After that didn't work, I performed a factory reset, although I did use the Xperia restore feature to restore the phone with all of its data. I read this forum and then tried to operate my phone in Safe Mode. While in Safe Mode, I show no signal whatsoever. Thank you for any help you can provide.
Hi @RasAlGhul1288, sorry to hear about this.
I would actually suggest that you try to repair the software on the phone using Xperia Companion instead of resetting the phone to factory settings. This due to the fact that a factory reset only delets your user data while a software repair will also replace your current software with a new one. Keep in mind though that a software repair will erase all user data just like the factory reset, so it is advised to do a backup before the repair to avoid data loss.
If the software repair do not improve the functionality, I believe that the best thing to do is to get in contact with your local support team for further advice. This due to the fact that service routines, warranty and consumer laws vary a bit depending on which market you are located in.
Let me know how it goes!
