Bluetooth won't pair with handsfree on Xperia m4 aqua

Hi, I just bought the above phone. I have tried everything possible to get it to pair with my handsfree. I haven't had this issue before, EVER! Any ideas as to what I can try?? I really don't want to buy another handsfree in case the same thing happens. I have a Samsung handsfree.

@meema

what if you reset your headphones?

It's just an earbud handsfree for driving. I have turned it off, then on, made sure it's charged. Acckkkkk!!!!

@meema

You might want to contact the headphone's manufacturer regarding this.

Also make sure that the headset has been set to pairing mode. If it's not in pairing mode the phone will not detect it.

A common method of putting a headset in pairing mode is by turning it off and then holding the on/off button for 10 seconds or so but depending on model there may be other combinations that should used.

Thanks Richard. It just won't work. Going to contact the hands free manufacturer and see what's up. Te on/off for 10secs didn't work and I spoke with an agent on the chat support and he hadn't heard about that. I'm not happy with this as it was no problem with my Nexus 3 I had. Should have stuck with the brand I know. very frustrated. it keeps saying "no bluetooth devices nearby".
