"Process System is not responding" and "Capacity for NFC services full"

Today I have updated my M4 Dual to Marshmallow and the nightmare just followed.

Turning on the phone I got "Process System is not responding" prompt and everytime I updated an app or I cleared the app data an error message of "Capacity for NFC services full" popped up

I tried booting into Safe Mode but those message won't go away. I have factory reset my phone again but there is no luck.

What should I do next to get rid of these two errors?

You might be able to check what the status of NFC is in USB Debugging.

You'll need to connect the phone to a PC in ADB mode.

Once you connect in adb in a command prompt, command lines are

Adb shell

Dumpsys nfc

That should print out the NFC state

Thanks for your prompt reply. However how can I make use of the info from dumpsys?

My NFC is actually working fine but I do not want to always turn it on. The error comes up during NFC is off.

Hi @chuckmo,

Welcome to the community.

Have you tried resetting the NFC Services?

To do this please go to Settings > Apps > 3 Dots > Show System > NFC Service > Storage > Clear Data, then restart your phone.

Hi @CameronT,

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried clearing the data and restarting the phone but the problem is still there, not to mention the error popped up evertime I deleted app data.

It should be something to do with the latest Google Play services and Sony's Marshmallow, considering this pops up consistantly during app update.

Or you could check which NFC apps are trying to run when you have it turned off

There'll be an error count for the apps that use nfc

Hi @NeoBeum,

I got:

libnfc llc error_count=0

There are some other messages about google tapandpay but no Android Pay is installed in my phone.

@chuckmo,

Do you have any banking apps installed that have tap and pay functionality?

Hi @CameronT,

No. Not Scotiabank. Not even Android Pay.

This happened even when I booted into the safe mode
