Reboot loop

Reboot loop

Recently my M4 aqua has begun to get randomly stuck in an endless booting loop. I tried to repair it via experia companion app (which took more than two hours) before deciding to send it to repair. Then they told me that the problem was due to an electrical damage: too bad, nothing changed at all. I tried everything, resetting to factory and then rebooting it without SD or Sim, or disinstalling one by one most of the apps I installed. Sooner or later this problem shows itself again. So, what now? What else can I do?

yeah, the warranty is still valid since my phone is just a year old.

Also the wi-fi has problems, now and then it refuses to connect to any wireless network and the only way to gain a connection is, guess what, rebooting the phone which then gets stuck in a perpetual samsara of rebooting.

So help my phone finding the enlightment before I decide that recycling is not a bad option.

Hi @CosmicVagrant, I am very sorry about that. Slightly_frowning_Face

When you sent it to an authorized service center for repairs, did they repair any components?

I'm afraid that the only thing I can recommend in your case is to have it sent to an authorized service center again, since you have already tried a software repair, removing SIM- and SD cards and removed third party apps. I would like to assist you in having it sent in, but since I'm based in the Nordics and work Globally I'm afraid it would be best to get in touch with your Local support for further assistance. They will also be better informed regarding local service routines, consumer laws and warranty terms for your market. Slightly_frowning_Face

Try to describe what you're experiencing as in depth as you can, preferably with examples on how to make the behaviour occur to make it easier for a technician to locate and troubleshoot what you're experiencing.

Keep me updated on how it went!

So, yesterday I went to retrieve my phone and it is still useless, the logic unit has been changed and even though there is no hint of a reboot loop (for now) a new problem has arised. As soon as I switched the phone on the screen frozed for a few second to reboot shortly after. Every time I do something like scrolling the screen, tapping on an app, write a message there is the high chance that the phone freezes and reboots. This afternoon I will sent it again to reparation, for the fourth and last time.

Update

And here it comes again the reboot loop, in the end nothing changed.

I'm afraid that I'm not familiar with your local consumer laws, but if you're about to send it in for the fourth time I recommend getting in touch with your Local support once again to see if there are any alternatives to service.

i've had my xperia m4 aqua e2353 for almost 2 years now, i have the same problem as yours back when it was around 4-5 months old, beside the reboot loop my battery was draining fast even when i've never overcharged it back then. So i sent it to the local sony service centre and they said it's an hardware problem then took it for around 2 months! i have to go to the service centre for multiple times and even spoken to the manager just to get my phone back faster.

Anyway, my phone was ok when i got it back, but, 4 month ago the same problem came back and it got worse, not only the reboot loop thing, my phone can't connect to any wifi (connecting to one will result in reboot, and as you know, stuck in the loop again) and it cannot find any network beside LTE, every time i tried to set my network at 3G or 2G it goes straight to "emergency calls only". I ain't waiting for another 2 months so i decided to ignore it and use my phone like nothing happened. Usually my phone started to self boot and stuck at the reboot loop every 6-10 days. I lived with it until last week when my screen suddenly switch off (just like when i locked my phone) but when i pressed the power button once, the screen turned blue and my phone switch off.

Now, i can't turned it back on, it would stuck in a boot loop (only displays the sony logo over and over again), then came the "powered by android" screen, then it turned blue and switch off again. I haven't taken it to the service center, i hope i could fine another solution first. Anyone knows what should i do?

Hi @sempakgurame and @Wono, so sorry to hear that. Slightly_frowning_Face

My recommendation would be to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion in order to make sure that it is not software related. I know that you have tried removing the SIM- and SD cards @Wono, but it would be a good troubleshooting step for @sempakgurame so please try that as well prior to software repairing the device.

Should the rebooting behaviour persist, then I'm afraid that it would be best to have it delivered to an authorized service center so that it can be thoroughly examined by a technician. I know that it may be inconvenient to be without your device, but if a software repair does not help then there is not all too much I can suggest for you to try yourselves. Slightly_frowning_Face In order to have it sent to an authorized service center, I advice that you get in touch with your Local support so that they can assist you further - they're well informed with your local service routines, consumer laws and warranty terms.
