Xperia M2 very faulty after update, frustrating!!!

Upon purchasing my Sony Xperia M2 a year ago, I was warned about it's small internal storage capacity and was advised to buy an sd card alongside it. I ignored this advice and instead packed my phone until it was full to the brim two days ago. Therefore, I was forced to buy a new sd card so that I could transfer my data and free up space so that the phone could continue functioning properly. When I put in the sd card, everything worked well, and my data was apparently transfered. However, I checked the internal storage and apparently it was still full so the system still couldn't work correctly. After days of scouring through endless forums to try and find a way to correctly move my data out of the internal storage, I gave up and decided that the sd card was of no use. At this point I thought it would be a good decision to erase all data which was apparently on the sd card so that I could perhaps sell it on. However, upon deleting all of this data, I checked the phone and found that nothing turned out to be on my internal drive and had all been swiped with the sd card. I lost the last pictures of my grandmother I have, and all the other countless memories which were supposedly on the phone. Not to mention all of my apps, music and everything else on the phone. To make matters worse, I am unable to reinstall anything which was lost because my phone is still claiming that the internal storage is full, and won't let me even take a picture. Please can somebody help, is it possible to restore any of my lost data? Will it be possible to get rid of this internal storage? ( I clean my cache and residual files regularly and the phone's system is fully up yo date)

Thankyou

I understand your frustration and I'm sorry for your lost data, but if you have transferred the pictures, music, videos, etc to the SD card and later on reformat it and/or delete everything on it, well that will explain why you lost all the data.

You might be able to recover the files if you use RECUVA on your computer.

You won't be able to install any apps until you free up memory on your phone, you could factory reset the phone with PCC
