I was using Bluetooth to pair Xperia 8 with a speaker. I dont know if that caused it, but I cant get the sound back on the phone's normal speaker. Through Bluetooth, the sound is fine. I have switched off the settings for Bluetooth countless times, unpaired it with the speaker. Turned off the phone, and turned it on again. Took out the battery. I even typed this phone configuration setting to get to the speaker but it doesnt seem to apply to X8. I have checked the updates and that is fine too. Checked out the posts from different places, none seem to solve my problem.

TheGuruSydney, since *#*#4636#*#* worked on your phone, the HOME and BACK button should too.
After reading your earlier post, I believe you did not press that set of combination (HOME and BACK) from LOCKSCREEN.
Hopefully you can get to the test and if unfortunately there is no sound, it could a hardware problem. Then you have no choice but to send for repair.
Okay here is how I understand it : the lockscreen is the on / off one on the very top of the phone. The back is the right button out of the three on the front panel. The back is to the left. I have tried to the set up. I have tried to switch off the phone first. Turned it on without going into the sim lock. Then pressed left, right right. left right right left. But nothing happened.
the lockscreen is the screen w/ the "Slide Lock"
let's say that your phone's screen is off and you press the power button to turn on the screen, what you see is the "LOCKSCREEN" with the time, date and a slide bar at the bottom, do NOT unlock, just enter the sequence.
the HOME button its the one with a SQUARE the Back the one with an arrow and the MENU the one with 4 parallel lines
in the picture above from left to right MENU HOME BACK
Halleluya - finally got into the test services - and with the speakers - they are dead. So is that conclusive?
I would think so, you should contact Sony ericsson now
I am on a two years plan with a provider. Do I go to them first? Thanks so much - you and gwhisperez.
yes, contact your network/carrier first, some carriers will replace the phone with a used one, some with a new one, etc.
Will do. Thanks everyone. Happy holidays greetings.
Anytime
same for you
Great! Finally you found out what's wrong with your phone, the next step is to get it fixed!
Enjoy the holiday season too.
