Mine started after an update but then I started questioning mroe the battery as no apps were being used and I had strange issues. Under warranty I had sent it back for repair, it got returned apparently havin a new battery and fixed.. No it weren't.. After still havin the exact same issues I sent it back again and put a complaint in about the shockingly poor service I'd received and once I got it back it had got a new mainboard and finally my issues were sorted. Still can't say I'm impressed with the phone especially since the android 8 update but at least I have a phone that now stays on for longer than a couple of hours.

Has anything actually been done to fix this issue? This thread was started over a year ago and I have yet to find a clearly defined solution to the problem. I just started experiencing the issue a couple of weeks ago and have went through all of the steps to fix it to no avail. I have replaced the battery, factory reset twice, repaired the software through the companion app and i can go from 100% to 0% in an hour. Is there actually anything to fix this problem?

Mine turned out to be a fault with the board I believe. Due to mine still bein under warranty I had sent it back n once I got it back they said they changed the battery but I still had the same issues so I sent it back a 2nd time and they replaced the board. Since then iv had no issues. Sounds like you have the same problem to me. If it's still under warranty I'd get it sent back for repair or replacement.

Ok, thanks for that. Are you talking about the charging port board or the motherboard? Mine is out of warranty but I should be able to replace the part.

I honestly couldn't tell ya. I just sent it to Sony repair and after the 2nd time of sending it they told me they replaced the board inside. They are useless with details. 1 department answers the phones and another does the repair but not many details gets passed between them from what I experienced. Iv always loved Sony phones, simple to use and look great but the customer service when there's a problem The best thing I can suggest to ya is if you have the skill to strip and test ya phones components I'd try changing the charging board as these should be cheap to find on eBay before splashing out on a new main board or new phone. Other than that I'm afraid I can't help ya. Sorry bud

So a 450$ phone lasts just over a year... Great... I went from an Samsung S4 to this phone and the S4 is still running fine after over 4 years of heavy use just had to change the battery.

I realise this is almost a year old but this is identical to the same problem i have, as OP.
It's been going on since April and i can't find any solution to the problem.
