Pictures recieved via text keep showing up in black and white

When I receive picture via text they show up in black and white and grainy. Even though the picture was sent in color.

That's happening to me,  too.  Did it reaolve?

I'm experiencing this exact same issue.  My best guess at what's happening is that the phone is making some determination that the picture is "too big" and downgrading the quality.  I say this because screenshots are coming through ok, but pictures are not.  That being said, I have not found any solution.
