why does the Wi-Fi keeps coming on when I'm charging the phone

Every time I plug my phone in the Wi-Fi automatically comes on I don't want my phone to do this why does it do it?

Either go to settings > system > search > wifi > Wi-Fi preferences > Turn on wi-fi automatically > turn it off

or 

pull down the notification bar > long press on the wifi icon > wifi preferences > turn on wifi automatically > turn it off
