I just recently bought a brand new Xperia V about two weeks ago, last night it prompted me to update the software by connecting it to a PC. but when I had it connected to my PC it is annoyingly connects and disconnects continuously.
I have also found a similar thread, unfortunately the link which is supposedly be the solution is already unavailable.
I would appreciate your immediate reply and support on this.

Hi should I first uninstall PCC before installing SUS?
I have installed SUS unfortunately it does not have the model xperia V on the availabled choices to be updated.

If SUS does not find your device,try repair with PC companion,other way there is not.
Hi on the SUS on its lists of devices xperia V is not listed. also the main problem exist, my xperia v gets connected and disconnected continuously, now im thinking twice of connecting it im afraid it might damage/corrupt my phone.
It is strange,sony should know about SUS not showing the older models of Xperia.

Contact sony and ask them about the SUS issue.You should take your phone to a sony service,do not stress it anymore.
Was able to successfully update my phone, how? even I aint sure.. I downloaded the download file on my PC companion when then I followed the instructions, I removed the USB, I turned the phone off, press down the volume button then connected the USB.. and im glad it was updated successfully
