how to restore files

i connected to my friends computer and suddenly every file in my phone has gone missing! it says no pictures to view, no music, no videos etc, but the memory storage capacity shows that the internal storage still has those contents filling up space. how can i restore my files?

Can you see your files through your phone,using a file explorer?

Go to settings-apps-all and go to media storage.Clear data and restart.See if anything is different.
