Hi all
I recently bought a Xperia Z and it wasn´t brand new, it was taked from a friend.
The old user of the phone was a Vodafone´s user and now the phone is switched to Movistar/DigiMobile ( a spain mobile network).
The phone wasn´t coded.
After I took the phone I inserted the SIM and for 2 days the SIM and phone worked together very well. After two days, suddenly I can´t call any friend and i can recieve any call nor messaging, I got phone signal, I also have internet data connection which works great.
What´s the matter? I went to the Movistar and they took off the SIM and put in another phone and all works great even calling.
What could it be?
I hope I could get an answer please.
just get a brand new MICRO SIM card
Then why it works perfectly on other phones?
just try it, get a brand new MICRO SIM card and report back, not a used SIM card but brand new
A similar issue happened to my co-worker's phone in the sense that some SIM functions do not work properly.
He just got a new postpaid line LTE SIM card and a new phone (some newly released samsung LTE plasticy phone). Everthing works great exept when the phone is getting HSPA data, it won't get any internet connection. In addition to that, he cant get any LTE signal. He can be sitting next to me and I'm getting an LTE signal on my Xperia Z but not on his phone (we have the same carrier).
He went to the telco and they tried the SIM card and it worked fine on an Xperia V. But when we tried using it with my Xperia Z then the issue replicated. When the phone goes H (HSPA) it automatically disconnects from the Internet. The telco replaced the SIM card and everything works okay now. Replace it, just like uliwooly said, and let us know what happens.
perhaps your phone doesn't have the correct APN settings
It does. We triple checked the network settings for both phones and they were identical. It does have internet connection with GPRS, EDGE (E), HSPA+ (H+).
It was just an issue with no internet connection once it gets HSPA (H), and cannot get LTE (4G) at all. Replacing the sim fixed it as a matter of fact. I think I've read it with one of your post
The phone already have a brand new SIM, because the old SIM that I used on my OLD phone wasn´t Micro SIM.
Any other ideas?
The first 2 days worked perfectly.
