Camera image looks like it lacks details

Hi, I am from India. After the lollipop upadate, my Xperia m2 dual( 2302) camera shows some isues. Its image looks like artistic picture, lacks details. When zooming its feel too bad. Is any one have this issue?

We hope so, because the camera was taking way better photos on 4.4.4 in any modes, now they are not good.

And can I ask about the oleophobic coating of the camera lesn, there are some scrathesh, should I remove it, I mean the purple coating of the back camera ?

Hey! I pretty much have the same issue, identified yesterday. The problem seems to be ocurring in bright environments, leaving artifacts and serious lack of detail. It doesn't matter if background light is artificial or natural sunlight, it results in awful image quality which was never a problem with this phone in my experience on 4.4. It also doesn't matter what camera app you're using, the imaging algorithm seems to be the one causing the issue. Bright images seem like painted ones even without zooming in on details. I'm pretty sad, cause I found this phone good for photos in the midrange. Hope the fix is under way along to address a couple of other issues with the 5.1.1 update.

After updating to android 5.1.1 lollipop, the camera is not functioning correctly..... The Pics taken from the phone are full of grain and noise.....It is heartbreaking to have these bad quality pics from sony camera...... I think this is some bug or, there is some integration problem with the OS and the App.....

Updated my phone yesterday to Lollipop 5.1.1. The camera functioning is really bad now. also the sound for notifications is much lower now, has to be set to max to even be heard. also GPS is disconnecting. these are the issues I have noticed so far. the system itself is working very well, very fluent and fast. BUT the camera going bad is really a deal-breaker for me... here are the images taken with kitkat (the first one) and with lollipop (the second), both taken in the same lightning conditions, same phone (D2303), on automatic mode... really really bad, and needs to be fixed ASAP.
