MXTP created problems for me.

MXTP created problems for me.

I recently bought me the xperia M4 aqua dual and configured the Myxperia service on the device. After day 3 I restarted the M4.

As the M4 was started up the MXTP gave me the lockdown screen with the verify, wifi settings and emergency call options on it. So as I wanted to unlock my device i pressed the verify button and a log in screen for my google account appears. I use my google account on all kinds of different devices so I logged in. But here someting goes wrong.

When I typed in the username and password to verify it is my M4 it gave me a loading icon for 2 seconds and then it says "incorrect username and/or password" and my M4 stays locked. To double check if my password and username are correct i logged in to another adroid device and my laptop with no problems. So now I'm stuck with a brand new non working xperia M4 and my hope for a good working security system is all lost.

Thanks Sony.

@Joselo2

You should be able to remember the password, if you don't access your gmail on a computer and reset the password.

@Joselo2

creating a new account won't solve the problem, you have to use the Gmail account that it's synced with your play store, contact your Xperia Care

Hello all,

I had the same problem that most of people here one week ago.

I don't know if it's due to a software update but once I switched off my device, it was then completely locked when I switched it on again.

However, when I switched on my device I had almost 15 seconds to use it before the lockdown screen to appear.

Then as I had created a second device user, I switched to it and my phone was working on this 2nd user account. But unfortunately It was impossible to deactivate my Xperia from this alternate user account (only the main user can do it)

Then I came back on my normal User account to check if the lockdown was still effective, it was... 😞

But hen arrived the miracle: I tryed to unlock my device using the login/password of the other User account and it worked!!!

So I immediately went into the security menu to deactivate MXTP...

And now I don't use this protection anymore until I will have the confirmation that this issue is 150% solved.

I just want to say that I love mySony Aqua phone. After 6 years of iPhone use It was a very good surprise to have such a good telephone for more tan half the price.

Sony should have a better communication and should deactivate the MXTP the time to solve the problem.

It would be more productive to advise customers that something is going wrong with this system but they work on it.

And once the issue is solved to advise people they can use it with full confidence.

Thank you

Hi Again:

The Factory Reset didn' work. Even now, myXperia Web Service is unable to locate the phone and even unable to change the PIN.

If none have more ideas, I believe I'm in the hands of Sony Support Service.

Thanks for the help (from this forum, not from Sony Angry_Face

TT2: if you have lost the password of the Gmail account, you can recover it from Gmail using a computer.

Once you have done this, you may be able to unlock your Xperia.

If this does not work, i.e., you login correctly in Gmail but your Xperia 'Protected' display says 'incorrrect user or password' (or something similar), you may be in any of the situations described along this forum.

My Xperia is currently comming back from the Sony Support Service (after a unrecoverable 'Protected' display) and I hope it works... I have to wait until tomorrow.

By sure I'll never reactivate the myXperia service.

Hi All:

After two days, I've received my M4 Aqua from Support Service, which indicates they have updated SW, without details about which SW.

It seems to work fine, at least, I don't get the 'Protected' screen. I've received as after a Factory Reset with only the language selection done.

I've observed the 'SW Compilation' is the same that I installed from PC Companion (26.1.B.2.102), which was the installation that generated the problem.

I've seen that the 'my Xperia' application displays version 0.0.A.1.23. I don't know if it is the same when the trouble appears or not.

My only concern is that the mobile does not show the 'Protected' display (and I'm sure I will not reactive this function) but I'm uncertain if the problem have been fully removed or I would get the Lock again on the next SW update (I hope not, but I'm not completely sure.

Well, I hope this info helps someone.
