Xperia M5 not updating to marshmallow

I recently tried to update my xperia M5 device to marshmallow through pc companion, the update was downloaded but when I connected my device through the cable then a messge appeared on the screen of my device which read that ''Unfortunately, update service has stopped''. Hence, I just couldn't update my device.

At least u got update ,on my xperia E5653 30.1.A.1.55  i still got no update i dont know is there any problem i should wait...

First of all sorry for my English,I'm French ( nobody's perfect.:smileyhappy:..)

I have a problem with the update to 6.0.I downloaded it , the phone began to install it but restart to the same version ( 5.1).I can't use Xperia Companion  becausethe phone is not recognized.

I sent my phone to Sony Care.Still waiting....

I am facing the same problem. I connect the phone to my PC, Xperia companion pops up and says there is a new update to 6.0 for my xperia M5. I click on update and it starts downloading, when it is finished it asks me again if I want to proceed, It then says preparing your phone and at the same time the phone shows an error message "update service stopped working". I also tried with the device turned off and holding the volume down button. I have restarted the phone a few times, tried in safe mode, I have also restarted the PC, nothing helps. It shouldn't be this complicated to update a brand new device I bought last month with lollipop 5.1.1 pre-installed.

I successfully updated my device by using these steps:
-Uninstalled Xperia companion
-Restart the PC
-Installed the latest version of Java
-Installed Xperia companion
-Connect the phone and select update
-Turned the phone off and followed the onscreen instructions
If it doesn't work try a different USB port on your PC.

I just got my Sony m5 out of the box and installing the Xperia system update does not work. It downloads and when I tap update, it starts updating for a bit, but after a minute or so it boots the phone and gives me an error. How to solve this?

Charge the phone above 50%
Update the phone via Xperia Companion on a computer

You can follow above suggestion or perform software repair using Xperia Companion, it will download the latest version and install it on your phone
