VOLTE?

VOLTE?

Does the XA support VOLTE? The whitepaper on Sony Mobile's site states that the device does. But I am on T-Mobile US network and calls drop to UMTS/HSPA(3G). Sony support says the device does support VOLTE and I need to talk to carrier. Carrier says if the device supports VOLTE it should work. Nobody is giving good support. Does anyone know?

Hi @jitendersingh1535!

According to the information which I have available, Xperia XA supports VoLTE in the U.K. with the carriers 3 and EE. However, please note that it would be wise to get in touch with your carrier to see if your carrier subscription supports VoLTE and if they plan to roll out the feature for your XA. Let me know if that answered your question! Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi Sony,

Whatever you are saying doesn't make any sense atall. How come without subscribing for VOLTE, JIO is able to provide the VOLTE service to other mobile brands. Had it been an issue with JIO, It wouln't work for other mobile brands. Right? How come other brands are able to build update for volte. Showing example of UK carriers is irrelevant here. In India we hardly have phones locked by service provider. Please do not suggest something which is irrational. There is no point going to JIO requesting for an update where in the same sim is working fine with other mobile brands. Please talk rationally.

1) Either you accept the fact that Sony doesn't want to spend time on this and do not want to help these poor users who still belive you as the best.

or 2) Provide a tentative date for an update to address volte issue for xperia XA and ultra.

Please accpet my apology if I sound a bit hursh.

Thank You,

Sabyasachi

I have a Sony experia xa dual. How can I activate the Volte?

@Pritraj if your operator has already activated your sim card to work with voLTE, you should be able to activate it from Settings, Mote, Mobile Networks. If you don't see any voLTE setting, try to open the dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#* - Phone Information: DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ON THAT PAGE. Just scroll down and check that VolTE Provisioned is active. If it's active your phone should be already active for VolTE, if it's not try to activate it manually, then redial the code again and check if the VolTE remained active, if it's back to OFF means that your sim card has no VolTE active.

Why VOLTE support for xperia phones is ambiguous feature. Why we can not answer the query in Yes or No.

Hi @Makarand,

These devices have support for VoLTE. However, to be able to use VoLTE, the operator must have support for VoLTE in its mobile network for the specific device model.

    Xperia™ XZ
    Xperia™ X Compact
    Xperia™ X
    Xperia™ X Performance
Xperia™ XA (only in the U.K. with 3 and EE)
    Xperia™ Z5
    Xperia™ Z5 Compact
    Xperia™ Z5 Premium Dual
    Xperia™ Z3+
    Xperia™ Z4 Tablet
    Xperia™ Z3 Compact
    Xperia™ Z3

now a days in india even under a 3k mobile has been supported volte

but there is a brand sony that i always suggest to everyone to buy it

but with one warning if you want volte support you should go for a 3k mobile not go for sony xperia 50k mobile

cause it will not support volte

today may be supported

but in future may be they stop it and will say something like

it is not supported by hardware in a 50K mobile

what a rubbish sony shame on you

xa ultra and xa both have hardware capable for volte

our network reliance jio giving us volte

you only provide atleast a minor update of toggle in settings which is

"enable volte if it is available"

Why the XA have support for VoLTE only in the UK & not in the other regions? Is there any hardware difference (Which I haven't seen- The same Helio P10)? All here in Sony India support use to say that Xperia™ XA Dual is not VoLTE compatible due to its hardware (then how is it possible in the UK 😂).  But as far as I know all the modern chips are compatible with VoLTE & for this case it is a software only feature. Now for God sake, please don't ask to use the crappy *#*#4636#*#* trick, coz it works nothing. Also don't ask to contact the network operator. They had cleared their side [NB-Once I saw a brand mentioning on its website that the VoLTE update for their model was going to be released.]
